"A number of well-defined behavioral and relaxation interventions now exist and are effective in the treatment of chronic pain and insomnia."

-- NIH Technology Assessment Panel on Integration of Behavioral and Relaxation Approaches into the treatment of Chronic Pain and Insomnia

"The self-hypnosis techniques Dr. Doner teaches are extremely beneficial to our patients with chronic insomnia and stress. We also learned to quickly relax in any situation in our daily lives. In just a couple of seconds I can take a mental vacation to the Florida Keys!"

-- Lauren Butler, Sleep Disorder Center,
Sebastian River Medical Center, Sebastian, FL

Most sleep difficulties do improve when you take good care of your mind and body before bedtime and in bed.
Sleep is a natural biological function. At some point in your life you knew how to sleep well! And for some reason you got off track. As long as there are no medical reasons for insomnia, your mind and body can be retrained how to sleep well again.

Good "sleep hygiene" is critical in the treatment of insomnia. Please click on the following link from the National Sleep Foundation for an excellent review of healthy sleep tips.

Reflect on how you can help yourself.
Please fill out the Sleep Questionnaire on the link above and bring it to our first session. Together we will create your personal plan for self-care. You will receive suggestions in hypnosis for making these plans your reality.

Hypnotherapy is scientifically proven to be superior to medication in the long-term and is non-addictive.
Most physicians can take a medical history that would reveal any medical causes for insomnia. These include clinical depression, sleep apnea, restless leg syndrome, hyperthyroidism, some medications, and other causes.

The only treatment that most physicians can provide for non-medical insomnia is sleeping medication. As you can see from the Scientific Research (link above), learning how to ease yourself into sleep with Hypnotherapy is effective and has only positive side-effects! Many physicians prefer to refer to a professional well-trained Hypnotherapist.
