“Bringing
Calm into Chaos” CD helped me relax
during the hurricanes. I could listen to it and be completely
at ease, which in turn kept my whole family relaxed and
got us through the worst storms I’ve ever experienced!
Even now when I’m stressed I just lie down in a
dark room, listen to Dr. Doner’s calming voice
and feel relaxed and renewed.”

From the CD jacket:
Feeling Stressed?
Join the club! It’s simply part of the human condition. When life doesn’t
turn out as expected, when things aren’t under our control, or when we
or someone we love hurts—we suffer.
And we react! Muscles tighten. Our stomachs churn out acid. Blood
pressure rises and the
immune system weakens. We may feel sad, anxious, fearful, or angry!
And we may automatically eat, smoke, yell, cry or use alcohol or
drugs. (And these may make things worse in the long run!)
The good news is that there is relief!
Track 1 introduces the tools that bring you this stress relief.
Even if we can’t change the situation we can cultivate calm
within ourselves and bring this calm to the situation. And we end
up feeling so much more relaxed and peaceful…
And by "Calming the Body, Calming the Mind" we often
find wise solutions to the situation. This quick and easy tool
on Track 2 only takes 30 seconds to do on your own after you have
practiced it. "Calming the Body, Calming the Mind" is
the "boat" that safely carries you through the ups and
downs of the waves of life. It becomes a new automatic habit when
life deals us difficulties and it immediately defuses stressful
situations.
(Be prepared for the deep relaxation of self-hypnosis as you
listen to Tracks 2 and 3, with your eyes closed and not
while driving!)
Have you ever experienced that the way you "see" a situation
determines how you feel?
What we react to is our perception of reality. Is the glass half
full or half empty? It all depends on how you look at it.
Track 3 leads you through this "Changing Perspective" with
an actual stressful
example of your own choosing. By looking at the situation from
another
viewpoint and by asking yourself simple questions, you loosen the
concrete of
rigid thinking. You respond wisely rather than react. You find
practical answers
and welcomed stress relief.
These tools are simple yet profound, quick yet effective. After
you’ve easily learned
them by listening to the CD several times, then practice them daily
and routinely when life is easy. They then become an automatic
reaction whenever life is less than easy. They give you a little
gap of time, inner peace and awareness.
These tools give you choice and choice is inner freedom.
These powerful tools put you in charge so that you respond wisely
to whatever life throws your way. And life will give you lots
of opportunities to practice, you know. Because, "That’s
life!"
Wishing you inner calm,
Kathy Doner, MD
